The BEST Coffee Shops in Austin

My body runs on caffeine and I am not at all ashamed. Personally, I like my coffee black. Occasionally I’ll add one packet of raw sugar, but that’s only if I’m in the mood. However, if you’re not like me and are in the mood for something frothy or need that extra shot of espresso, have no fear! Austin has SO many great coffee shops offering endless varieties

It’s not hard to notice that Austin has a coffee shop in almost every nook and cranny. We sort of have this “start-up” feel of a city and coffee practically runs through our veins. It’s so easy to find places with free WiFi, numerous outlets and of course, great coffee. Not to mention that Austin is somewhat (debatable) hipster… Swear, everyone you meet can you tell you their favorite place to grab a cup of joe

So, in honor of National Coffee Day (September 29), I’ve put together my personal list of the BEST coffee shops in Austin. Feel free to consider these places when you need to get that caffeine fix, don’t want to work from home or just want a place to bring a friend to sit and chat with!

Radio Coffee & Beer

I can honestly say that I’ve worked from this coffee shop more than I can count on my fingers and toes. It has everything you could possibly want in a coffee shop: atmosphere, free WiFi, indoor and outdoor seating, and endless coffee. The cherry on top to this place? Veracruz and Paperboy are posted up right outside for breakfast and brunch

Flat Track Coffee

Located on the east side off of Cesar Chavez, Flat Track Coffee has free WiFi and great coffee made with their own beans! You can even purchase them and some other cool merchandise. Not to mention, the atmosphere is super hipster – bikes everywhere

Wright Bros. Brew & Brew

In my opinion, this coffee shop is on the smaller side. If you’re planning on working from here, the lighting is great, but get there early to grab a spot because outlets fill up fast. Although, Rosen’s Bagels does a good job of convincing you to stay a bit longer here

Epoch Coffee

Tucked away in North Loop is Epoch Coffee. Hands down one of my favorite coffee shops and was a frequent study place of mine during my UT days. It’s 24/7 with a good amount of seating, large tables, coffee and snacks. My favorite item on the menu is their Mexican Mocha. Trust me, this will keep you energized

Cherrywood Coffeehouse

This place screams Austin. Indoor seating and an outdoor patio that doubles as a performance space. I personally enjoy this coffee shop on the weekends because the atmosphere makes it a great place to catch up with friends or pet some dogs

Bennu Coffee

Another great 24/7 coffee shop super close to campus for all you Longhorns. It’s a lot more quiet compared to Epoch, so definitely come here if you need to knock out a hardcore study sesh before finals. Also, if you love cold brew this is the spot for you. Chameleon Cold Brew is the brain child of this establishment

Summer Moon Coffee Bar

Summer Moon has locations all throughout Austin. I love how you can order online and customize any drink on their menu. They also offer delicious goodies from tacos to breakfast pastries! To each their own here

Starbucks Reserve & Roastery

This picture was actually taken on my previous trip to Seattle, but Austin actually has its own location at the Domain. Super convenient for all of you northsiders! It’s not as big as the one in Seattle, but the perk of it being in the Domain is that there’s SO many food options for when you need that extra fuel to keep you going. It’s located in the NorthSide of the Domain near the Sprinkles and Nordstrom

Sa-Tén Coffee & Eats

Ask me how many times I’ve been to their Canopy location. I dare you. Honestly, if the coffee isn’t enough to entice you, the food definitely will

I discovered this location when I needed to switch things up a bit from a “work from home” standpoint. I love the retro vibe of this coffee shop with the diner-style seating. Outlets are abundant, which is a plus, and the noise level is at a minimum

My old roommate actually dragged me to this coffee shop. It’s located off S. Lamar in a cute little white house. The Matcha Latte is amazing! Plus, the outdoor patio is perfect for bringing your pup and catching up with friends on a nice day

Mozart’s Coffee Roasters

Last, but certainly not least, I couldn’t make a list of Austin coffee shops and not include Mozart’s. I love this Lake Austin coffee shop for the views, delicious coffee and endless goodies. You can also get bottomless ice coffee for $5! Can’t forget about how this place transforms during Christmas time as well 😉

What’s your favorite type of coffee? Do you drink yours black? Drop me a comment fam!
