It’s here ladies and gentleman… my Top 10 FAVORITE pizza places in Austin! Now, if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that pizza is my favorite meal on this planet. Thank you pizza god for creating such a heavenly slice of culinary masterpiece. Here’s a fun pizza fact: Did you know that the average American eats 23 pounds of pizza a year? I would like to believe that I eat more than that #noshame
“Where is your favorite pizza?” is probably the #1 question that I get asked frequently when people find out that I LOVE pizza. In honor of National Pizza Day this year, I finally put together my 10 favorite places in Austin to get pizza. Neapolitan is more of my style, but I’ve definitely included New York and Pan-style pizza in my list 😉 Where’s your favorite place to grab a slice of pizza in Austin? Drop me a comment fam!
1519 E Cesar Chavez St #200, Austin, TX
Hands down, my favorite place in Austin to grab pizza is Bufalina. Neapolitan-style pizza is my favorite because of the way it’s cooked. High heat in a wood-fire oven. There’s just something about the smokiness, slight char and softness in the middle that just keeps me coming back for more. In my opinion, Bufalina makes the BEST Neapolitan-style pizza in Austin. They currently have two locations in Austin. I recommend that you make a reservation, or if you don’t mind waiting, you’re always free to sip on a glass of wine (or two)!
61 Rainey St, Austin, TX
Detroit-style pizza found it’s way to Austin! Via 313 makes AMAZING pan pizza and it’s so damn good. I usually like to go to their Rainey location, which is home to one of their original trailers, behind Craft Pride. Grab your friends, drink some beer and chomp down on pizza! My favorites on the menu are The Omnivore, The Cadillac, and The Original Pepperoni
8000 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX
This is another Neapolitan-style pizzeria in Austin that I absolutely love! What I like the most about DeSano is that you can customize the crust to get it done carnival-style: stuffed with ricotta cheese. You should definitely try it if you haven’t already!
1415 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX
Would it be a “Top pizza places in Austin” list without Home Slice? I definitely had to include Home Slice because it screams Austin. Their South Congress location is one that I recommend to any visitor or newcomer to Austin. It’s New York-style pizza so you can expect BIG slices! My favorites are the Pepperoni & Mushroom and the White Clam Pizza. Be wary, Home Slice doesn’t let you make any adjustments to their “Tried and True” pizzas, but that’s just because their pizzas are just too damn good to change up! Don’t have enough time to sit down and eat? Don’t worry, they have a take-out menu where you can order by the slice out of a window
1401 Rosewood Ave, Austin, TX
East Side Pies is a very community-oriented pizza company, which is why they belong on my list of the best pizzas in Austin! They locally source their products and are able to cater to the gluten-free crowd
507 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX
Located right off the iconic 6th street, The Backspace specializes in Neapolitan-style pizzas. I love adding prosciutto to their pizzas. It adds that extra salty, meatiness that will make your taste buds very happy
316 E 6th St, Austin, TX
I will admit that the first time I had Roppolo’s was after a drunken night on dirty 6th. Needless to say, after that I was hooked! They make Sicilian-style pizza and have been an Austin icon for over 25 years. Now, we all know that drunk pizza is definitely good, but I highly recommend that you get Roppolo’s sober. It’s just as good, if not better!
4729 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX
Pizza AND beer. A match made in heaven. Pint House pizza has two locations in Austin. Their beer is award-winning and their pizzas are hand-crafted and delicious. This is why they belong on my list of the best pizzas in Austin!
4715 S Lamar Blvd #103, Sunset Valley, TX
This Dallas transplant finally cemented itself in Austin not too long ago and has become a favorite of mine ever since! Another Neapolitan-style pizza and a delicious one at that. Try their Margherita, Go Ham, La Flama Blanca, and the original Cane Rosso! If you like basil, make sure you ask for extra on top
7101 Woodrow Ave Ste A, Austin, TX
Little Deli & Pizzeria rounds off my list for the top pizza places in Austin because it is such a deal! It’s locally owned and they specialize in Jersey-style pizza. The slices are BIG and that’s all you really need to know
